Rachel is on maternity leave until spring 2012. Her role is being covered by Dustin Benton.
Rachel leads our Climate and Energy Futures theme. She specialises in energy policy and is author of several reports. Rachel gave evidence to the House of Commons Energy and Climate Change Committee and was cited in their report on Electricity Market Reform (EMR), published in 2011.
Rachel’s current work focuses on EMR and how it can deliver policies that result in a rapid decarbonisation of the electricity sector. She is looking at how the EMR process can promote the demand side, maximise renewables growth and enable the deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
Rachel joined Green Alliance in 2009 after working as a consultant in the climate change and renewable energy team at Enviros Consulting. She has also worked as a Carbon Consultant at Greenstone Carbon Management and as an energy consultant at Environmental Resources Management.
Rachel holds an MSc in environmental technology from Imperial College London, where she was awarded a distinction, and a first class degree in physics from Manchester University.
